Hi, Hakim.

I have read your article, and should say that was very interesting for me.  I am from Azerbaijan, and almost the same traditions we have. It is really very odd. It is nonsense to waste such amount of money for food and for the other thing just in couple of days. We are celebrating the wedding parties in the big wedding palaces. Lots of food on the menu, and people even cannot it, however, it is just showing up. I thing all these bad traditions come from the Eastern culture rather than Islam religious as you pointed out in your article. The same tradition I can talk about conducting a funeral. Again too much food and waste of money. I am against of kind of traditions. Many thanks, it was really interesting to find some co-relations in the culture between Palestine and Azerbaijan community, even these are not respectful traditions.  Hope see you again, wish prosperity and territorial unity.

Hi Sabina,

Thanks for the comment, especially for mentioning the funeral thing. I wanted to mention that

but the article was too long. What we spend when someone dies is quite extravagant too. It is

again as you stated "misinterpretation of Islamic teachings". The Prophet suggested that we

proved food for bereaved families, but he was talking about direct families which means food

for 5, 6, or may be 10 people who are the direct family members of the dead. Instead, we serve food

for extended families. This is even more of burden because people do not choose when to die,

while they can choose when to get married.

Best wishes

hope we will meet again somewhere
